Intersectionality of Oppression and Domination

In this programme, participants will create a deep understanding of the interplay between different forms of oppression and domination.

Programme components:

  1. We will discuss the concept of identity, which can contain personal 'internal' parts and social 'external' parts. This will allow participants to get a clear idea of the concept of identity and how this affects them personally.

  2. We will discuss the effects that identity has on someone's position in social hierarchies. Participants will learn how different parts of someone's identity can cause an intersection of different oppressing and dominating parts.

Participants will form a practical and applicable understanding of identity and intersectionality of oppression. Additionally, participants will get familiar with tools that can be applied to understand power hierarchies.
